Becoming a firefighter is his future plan. Unfortunately we couldn't find a working fire to use as a backdrop for his session so an abandoned building had to do!

Had a blast photographing a good friend of mine. Not only can he play a mean guitar but also the violin. I've enjoyed several of his concerts and you may recognize him from an earlier post 'Battle of the Bands'. I also put together a quick video of the photographs and if he gets his new album ready I will change the music to one of his originals!

There are times when the day becomes more about the wedding, and not the marriage. About the placement of the flowers, the position of every chair, the size of the bows. Then there are times when the entire day is about love, hope and the future - the marriage. This day was about Megan and Tavis and the start of their lives together!

Thank you both for allowing me to enjoy your wedding with you, your family and your friends!

We had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Jordan & Katie in beautiful Colorado a few weeks ago. The wedding was held at Three Trees Chapel with the evening festivities at the Oxford Hotel. They spent the day holding hands and sharing moments that only belonged to them and that day they made the commitment to ensure it lasts forever.

Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

I hope you enjoy the video as much as I had enjoyed creating it.

Spent a few hours in Illinois photographing Connor.
We used an 180 year old abandoned church as one of the backgrounds. Trust me, I will be using it more in the future! I mainly used my trust 70-200 2.8 wide open and varied the shutter speed accordingly.
Most photographs were illuminated using off camera lighting shot thru an umbrella and under-exposing the ambient light by 1-2 stops. Both of his parents had excellent ideas on some of the posing and backgrounds they wanted and they turned out great!

Camera used: Canon 5D Mark II with 70-200 f/2.8 @ 125, ISO 50

Guitar Hero!

This image was made during a recent senior session. The photograph was taken not far from my studio with an old feed store used as the backdrop. I was literally hanging off the steps trying to get the vantage point I wanted. Thankfully, I didn't fall from the precarious position. I had my lovely assistant hold my snooted 580EXII camera left and it was set to about 1/8 power to get the affect I was looking for. About the only photoshop work I performed was to remove a sticker from the glass on the door, the vignette, and a little vibrancy to make the colors pop.

I think the overall shot is nice with just the right amount of shadows to draw interest.

Camera used: Canon 1d Mark III with 85 1.2 @ 125, ISO 50
